The paragliding Czech Open started on Saturday 7.7. 2007, immediately after Sky XCamp at Pieve d'Alpago. The competition is 6 days long and many top pilots, both Czech and international, are taking part.

The first year of XCamp, held before the Czech Open, has started at Saturday. It is a light competittion, with every participant choosing his/hers own time of launch and route. After landing, the route bringing the most points is chosen in an automatic optimization of each flight. In total more than 68 pilots will compete for many prizes from own sponsors and the main prize, a new glider by Sky Paraglidiers - any solo type of the winners choice.

Incredible accident happened on 29. 4. 2997 at Monte Grappa (Italy). Two polish pilots had a mid air collision at about 1000 mt altitude, one pilot, after trowing her reserve, landed safely on a field. The situation for the second pilot was a bit more serious.

After much deliberation, the selection committee for the Red Bull X-Alps 2007 has chosen 24 teams to take part in one of the world’s most spectacular adventure races.

At the end of the summer of 2006, 2 pilots from St Hilaire, France, made what could be the most incredible Vol-Bivouac flight in the history of paragliding. Northern Paragliding and the University of Hull’s Department of Computer Science have developed the world’s first immersive paragliding simulator. The English weather is a problem for budding paragliding pilots; training days are often cancelled due to excessive winds and unsuitable weather conditions. It comes as a relief therefore for pilots to learn that the University of Hull has come to their rescue with the creation of a paragliding simulator – the first of its type in the world.

"Finally we have a plan"! This sentence was in subject of my email to my friend Vlasta Puczok, when we solved our trip to the famous Brazilian take-off Patú. During my searching of several take-off places in the northeast Brazil I imagined in my head a line connecting some of them - YES, we´ll try to overfly whole of the Brazilian northeast from one take-off to another one with goal somewhere on the beach in the north! Total distance was over 700 km - it sounds pretty adventure!:-)
