Incredible collision in Bassano
Incredible accident happened on 29. 4. 2997 at Monte Grappa (Italy). Two polish pilots had a mid air collision at about 1000 mt altitude, one pilot, after trowing her reserve, landed safely on a field. The situation for the second pilot was a bit more serious.
The result of the collision was that one third of the wing was cut off completely, just held in place by the lines.
Incredibly, despite the wing being cut and very unstable, the pilot was able to fly and stear the wing to the landing field making a perfect landing concluded by an applause from all pilots presents. Probably this pilot made mistake and flew straight into another pilot.
Monte Grappa is well known among a lot of pilots and schools from Poland, Czech republic etc and this results in risk of midair collisions. We advise to all visiting pilots to be carefull and keep the local flying rules.
